Deoksugung, also known as Gyeongun-gung, Deoksugung Palace, or Deoksu Palace, is a walled compound of palaces in Seoul that was inhabited by members of Korea's Royal Family during the Joseon monarchy until the annexation of Korea by Japan in 1910.
The historic palace complex is centrally located in Seoul City Hall. English information or descriptions were not available. It would have been nice to see a little more green. It was early March when we visited. Perhaps it will be later in the year. (

It will make your visit even more memorable if you are accompanied by a docent.

() The demonstrations in front of Deoksugung Palace's entrance were so stale and smelly that it was embarrassing to witness foreigners pass by. Deoksugung Palace is somewhere I visit on purpose, but it is not something I want to go back every time. (

The Palace is beautiful. There are many photo opportunities. Adults 18-64 years of age can purchase tickets for 1000 Krona. The palace grounds are open for photography, as well as the outside wall. Recommendations

So much to see in this palace. We miss the secret garden this time. Will definitely visit again in our next trip.

Not the biggest of the palaces but very interesting history (where the Korean Empire was proclaimed) and architecture (with traditional and Greek architecture side by side) on offer here. Nice way to spend an afternoon.
