Jogyesa is the chief temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The building dates back to the late 14th century and became the order's chief temple in 1936. It thus plays a leading role in the current state of Seon Buddhism in South Korea.

I felt a sense of calm in the middle the city. Seungso served me seaweed soup and sprout bibimbap. It was delicious. According to them, the money is donated for people who are in dire need. It can be used for lunch. (

Beautiful Buddhist temple located at the heart of the city. The temple beautifully lit with ceilings full of colourful lanterns.
